Rethinking Commerce Marketing Measurement

What a year it’s been so far! Global Ecommerce sales are still growing and expected to top at nearly 20% of total retail sales by the end of this year, according to Statista. Retail Media spend is on point to grow more than 31% this year per a report by Insider Intelligence. And inflation is making it all even trickier for brands to know where to best invest and for retailers to remain attractive and competitive in the increasingly complex marketplace.

So we’ve been busy evaluating retail media networks and producing the industry’s first-ever Retail Media Report Card to help you determine which networks best support your goals. We’ve been digging into shopper insights across the U.S. and globally in Poland, France, England and Germany to find consistencies and differences in the way people shop. Plus, we’ve been continuing to evolve our Marilyn marketing technology to help brands unlock untapped opportunities for growth.

And now, we want to share our insights, learnings, best practices and frameworks with you in person. We’re proud to partner with Path to Purchase Institute as they bring their annual Live conference back this fall.

Join us in Chicago, October 17-20, for actionable ideas on measurement, retail media and connected commerce to grow your business. It all kicks off with an intimate conversation on Tuesday, October 18 at 9:40 a.m. with Ben Tienor, Director of Brand & Customer Insights at 7-Eleven. Our own Katherine Barks, VP of Strategy, will interview Ben on unique ways to reach and convert Gen Z — including an all-new, first-of-its-kind avenue.

Then, on Wednesday, October 19 at 2:30 p.m., Sheila Bonner, VP of Omnichannel Marketing at Keurig Dr Pepper, and Bob Waibel, Senior Director of Shopper Marketing at Conagra, will take the stage with our measurement and analytics experts Noyle Christopher, SVP of Data Science, and Kelly Kachnowski, VP of Commercial Development, both on the Marilyn team. You’ll learn their strategies for how to successfully measure the full impact of commerce marketing. They’ll share hurdles of implementing a streamlined measurement practice and how to overcome them.

On Thursday, October 20 at 3:00 p.m., our own Kelly Kachnowski will join IRI’s Executive Media COE Stephen Tobias, Meta’s Marketing Science Partner Matthew Sharp, and TPN’s Chief Strategy Officer Cheryl Policastro to discuss a common approach to shopper marketing measurement and how we might be able to apply that to the industry moving forward.
