Our SI-2K Mini connects to our laptop with Silicon DVR, Prospect 2K, and Iridas Speedgrade software. The main benefit of the SI-2K Mini is the extremely small and light form factor allowing for a myriad of unique camera placement opportunities.
In February we will be receiving our full SI-2K camera which requires no laptop and has on-board dual hard drives. The advantage of the SI-2K is that it is not tethered to anything, yet, the removable Mini head can still be run remotely from the body!

Which Silicon Imaging camera you choose is up to you. Both offer the same 2K resolution image, 11 stops of latitude, 12 bit processing, and a 4:4:4 color space, thanks to the Cineform RAW codec. The 2/3" CMOS sensor and PL lens mount enables the filmmaker to use Super 16 or 35mm lenses.
